     Mercurio has been accepted as a member of The Actors' Gang theatre company. Founded in 1981 by Tim Robbins, The Actors' Gang has produced over 70 plays and won over 100 awards, winning acclaim for their interpretations of Shakespeare, Bruchner, Brecht, Moliere, Aeschylus, Ibsen and Chekhov, while developing in workshop new plays that address the world today through a prism of satire, popular culture and raucous stagecraft.

     Mercurio is currently starring as 'Raskolnikov' in Mark Frumkin's modern film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel, 'Crime and Punishment', co-starring Annabelle Amirav
as 'Sonia'.

     Mercurio has just been cast as 'Nicholas' in Gregory Torrillo's 'Adoration', co-starring Amy Laster, Ryan Biegel and David Starks attached as DP. Suffering from a borderline personality disorder, 'Nicholas' discovers that his wife is having an affair with his brother and must cope with the pain in his own way. Filming is slated for May 2010.

     Mercurio is currently starring as 'Ray Smith' in
Andrew J. Goodrich's short film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's 'The Dharma Bums', co-starring Carrie Keranen as 'Rosie Buchanan', and cinematographer Andrew Jeric attached as DP.

     Anti-Samaritan Hotline has received the Select Award for Creative Vision in a Short Film at the 2010 CineKink Film Festival Awards ceremony, in New York City.

     Mercurio will be performing as 'Elliot Jacobsen', in a staged reading of Mako Kamitsuna's new original screenplay; 'From Here to Jaqueline',  on Sunday, February 21st,
at the Flight Theatre in Los Angeles

     Mercurio is in talks with director Mark Frumkin, to portray 'Raskolnikov' in Fyodor Dostoevsky's timeless masterpiece, 'Crime and Punishment'. Principal photography is slated for April 2010.


September 2009

     The 'Brainstorm' series, featuring Michael Mercurio, premieres on Monday, September 28th. The very first Web Series from Fox Mobile Studios, produced by Jon C. Stewart and directed by Silas Howard. 'Brainstorm' starring Jamie Elman & Michael Blaiklock, follows the creative teams at a struggling mid level ad agency.      Mercurio has been offered the lead role in
Sepehr Dehpour's directorial debut, 'Arad'. An epic film that takes place nearly 4500 years ago in Sumeria (Mesopotamia), in which a forgotten son m
akes a pilgrimage across the desert to return to his birthplace, and confront the truth of why he was abandoned by his family and the kingdom of Marduk. Cast includes William Morgan Sheppard (Wild at Heart, The Elephant Man) as the King, Braeden Marcott (Soldier of God) as the High Priest, and Brooke Stone (The Ugly Truth). Filming begins mid August.

     Mercurio is in talks for the role of 'Frank' in
Rachel Grissom's upcoming feature film debut, 'The Somnambulist'; a psychological thriller with producer & cinematographer, Andrew Sparaco attached. Principal photography is slated for August in New Orleans, Louisiana.

     Mercurio has been offered the role of 'Ryan' in the very first Web Series from Fox Mobile Studios entitled 'Brainstorm', a comedy produced by Jon C. Stewart and directed by Silas Howard. Brainstorm follows the creative teams at a struggling mid level Ad Agency, Yogurt. Shooting begins June 30th.

     Mercurio is slated for a table read for Gwen Baer & Linda Yandell's new screenplay entitled, "Tongue Tide", a comedy starring Janina Gavankar
(The L Word), on June 18th at the Electric Lodge.

     Mercurio has been offered the lead role of 'John' in the film 'Anti-Samaritan Hotline', directed by
Tad Chamberlain, with cinematographer Brandon Trost attached, co-starring Art Hsu (Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End). The story focuses on a man who needs help planning his own suicide. Film production is slated for mid May.

     Mercurio is currently starring as Jack Damon in 'Psycho Killer Reflections on God', directed by Mark Frumkin. The film is a self-reflective psycho thriller about a schizophrenic psychopath convicted of murder who negotiates his release with the head doctor (Joe Culliton) of the ward. But the conversation revolving around the role of God in their existence turns out be a brilliantly crafted set-up for a surprise ending. Post-production is expected to be completed by May.

     Mercurio has just completed filming of 'God Complex', directed by AFI graduate Adam Cosco. The film's story focuses on a computer programmer who
reflects on his latest software creation, an avatar game called 'The Complex' and decides to destroy it using his latest expansion weather packet, 'Internal Twilight', allowing the users to experience the natural chaos that exists within the real world.

     Mercurio is currently in talks for an upcoming directorial film debut by Andrew Sparaco. The story takes place in the bohemian enclave of the Faubourg Marigny, in which a young woman eventually unravels a dark secret - one which includes her own family.

     Mercurio is currently in talks with writer & producer Salvatore Polisi for an upcoming production of his new play "One Night at the Sinatra Club" and film "The Sinatra Club", directed by Gabriel Bologna (The Black Waters of Echo's Pond), slated for filming in August of 2008. Salvatore Polisi has worked alongside Mardik Martin (Raging Bull), David M. Evans (The Sandlot), David Chase (The Sopranos), Joseph Bologna and Renee Taylor .

     Mercurio has signed on with Sharon E. Morris of Actors LA Agency, for Theatrical Representation.

      Mercurio has just been cast as 'Victor', in the upcoming Macha Theatre production of "Skin of Honey (Piel de Miel)", written and directed by Odalys Nanin. The story centers on two women who reunite after being separated during the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961. "Skin of Honey" is expected to open on Saturday, September 15, 2007 and run up until October 28th.

      Mercurio has just been cast as 'Bob Brannigan' in Owen Land's 'Dialogues'; a 16mm modern interpretation of Plato's Phaedo. Filming begins March 2007. Writer & Director, Owen Land received the Independent Experimental Film & Video Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association for his body of work in 1999.

November 2006

    
       Mercurio has been cast as 'Tom' in 'My Happiness', a short film written and directed by Josh Monkarsh. It is a docu-dramatization, set in New York City 1950, exploring the lives of European and American survivors' and their experiences of World War II through personal stories and memoirs. Writer & Director, Josh Monkarsh was awarded the highly acclaimed Remi Award for his second feature film entitled; 'The Highlife' in 2003.
